uvex becomes official helmet supplier to Netherland National Equestrian Teams

uvex, the German helmet manufacturer based in Fuerth, Germany is the new, official helmet supplier to the KNHS, across all equestrian disciplines. J.S. Bierling, Managing Director from KNHS made the announcement at the "Indoor Brabant" in Den Bosch, the Netherlands. For the first time, a German supplier has been appointed to supply this equipment.

KNHS made its decision in favour to a company, which is a relative newcomer to equestrian sport. uvex launched their equestrian helmet range just two years ago. Yet in this short time, they have triumphed on both the international leisure riding and tournament scenes. uvex has already made great strides on the path towards market leadership in equestrian sports protection.

"We chose uvex because of their superior protection standards, highest quality, and 'Made In Germany' guarantee, to protect our elite competitors. We were greatly impressed by the helmet construction expertise of this company, already a world leader in the field of industrial safety, which complies with the strictest safety requirements, and produces in Germany," explained J.S. Bierling, Managing Director of KNHS.

"KNHS strives constantly to lay the optimal foundations for top athletes and young talents in the disciplines, dressage, jumping, eventing, driving, vaulting, endurance, reining (western) as well as para-equestrian. This applies also to the careful selection of the best equipment. In terms of helmets we came to the decision to choose uvex." Says J.S. Bierling.

uvex’s helmet expertise is legendary, thanks to its decades-long experience as supplier to international elite sport in fields as diverse as winter sports, cycling, motorcycling and motorsport. Numerous top athletes and national teams wear uvex.

uvex has already made great stride on the path towards market leadership in equestrian sports protection and is also official helmet supplier to the German Federation and German National Teams, as well as to the Austrian Youth National Team.

"The Netherlands teams will be equipped with fp 1 carbon and fp 3 active helmets, the top models in uvex’s 'hard shell' range. Using the very latest technology, the feather-light helmets offer the best protection and guarantee optimal ventilation," says Marcus Krehan, Director Business Unit Equestrian Sports. "In terms of eyewear the athletes will be also equipped with the newest technology in equestrian eyewear. uvex variomatic sports eyewear, where the ligth-sensitive photo chromic structure pressed into the lens material automatically adapts its shade in response to the prevailing light conditions, guaranteeing best vision and contrast recognition at all times – for optimal vision and more safety in equestrian sports. We will proudly fulfil the great responsibility which lies in equipping Netherland’s elite-level equestrian athletes. While keeping true to the uvex company’s motto, 'protecting people.' Protecting people is the mission and passion of the company, now in its third generation of family ownership."

Success arrived immediately after launch:
From first presentation of their cutting edge, and technically advanced, fp 3 active "hard shell" collection in 2009, the range has won many helmet tests and received many awards. Both trade, and the riding public, have responded very positively. uvex helmets are now an integral part of top level equestrian sport, mirroring the company’s success in other sports. Features including high protection, light weight, comfort and excellent ventilation have pleased both elite athletes and recreational riders alike.
